Education scholar and critical theorist
I am an emerging education scholar based in the U.S. who studies whiteness in order to destroy it. Through the perspectives of Critical Ethnic Studies and Black & Indigenous Feminisms, I study the methods and contributions of second-wave Critical Whiteness Studies in search of pedagogies to end the ontology of oppression known as whiteness.
As an educator, I strive to relegate whiteness to the margins in favor of Black, Indigenous, and/or Queer knowledge systems. Part of this commitment also means I care deeply care for and provide much attention to students.
While this is all very serious work, I also cultivate joy and laughter both in the classroom and in my relationships. One of my more joyous experiences has been the collective scholarship and activism of the Raíces Collective.
